Glow in the dark party

The kids had so much fun at Jake's party! I did a simple dessert table with a cool backdrop! I punched 3" circles with neon cardstock & made a chevron pattern.  I adhered them to black wrapping paper & mounted it to the wall.

I made simple flags out of neon ribbons for the Oreo pops & placed glow bracelets around water bottles.  I also wrapped neon ribbon around cylinder vase for the yummy sour patch kids.

Simple clear plates to catch the glow of the black lights. I also circled the cupcake stand in neon Pom poms.

The kids were all decked in their glow accessories.  I borrowed 8 big black lights that I placess around the room which created the awesome glow!

I tried to get an overhead shot of the kids playing glow in the dark twister! There were glowing balloons all over the floor for when the kids had their dance party!

At the end of the night, Jake made a glow bouquet for his friend Lexi.

They all had a glowing great time!!

Surprise birthday lunch

Won't my son be surprised when he opens his lunchbox today?  Tomorrow is his birthday and I wrapped up his lunch (turkey sandwich, clementine, water & a few gummy bears).  It's a fun way to let him know I'm thinking about him for his birthday! :)

Birthday Mario Shirts

I like to make birthday party shirts for all the boys friends for their parties but this year Evan found this shirt at Target. For those of you don't know, Bob-omb is a character from Super Mario (which is perfect for his Mario party theme). How cute will all the boys be in their "I'm The Bomb!" shirts!

Most Beautiful Flowers in the world

Yesterday was my 40th birthday & I received the most beautiful flowers from my three favorite boys in the world.  I love it because it was not arranged by a fancy floral designer but my boys who selected each flower with extreme thought & care. (my hubby said it took FOR-EV-ER)

It is sometimes the simplest things in life that turn out to be the most beautiful.

Mr. Roboto

This weekend, my youngest decided his birthday should be a Laser Tag party INSTEAD of the Mario party we have been planning for the last 6 weeks! Oh, did I mention his birthday is NEXT weekend? Needless to say, I have shifted gears (pun intended) and am trying to roll with it! He chose a robot theme & of course, there is NOTHING besides Wall-E stuff in our local stores.

However, I did find these cool, robot downloads from Paperkraft.

They have a TON of different robot patterns & you can download them here. Now, I just need a few girlfriends to come over to help me cut & glue them together-any volunteers?

More Heros Via The Party Dress

Create your own superhero like Shim & Sons

Shim & Sons Super Emblem, Cape, & Mask

Amber wrote in & asked for a few super hero ideas for her five year olds birthday party. Create a custom comic coloring book with the birthday boy as one of the main characters. A great keepsake is to have super hero capes for all the kids. Tie each cape around the kids chairs as part of the decor. Kids can decorate super hero masks for a fun craft project at the party. Create a menu named after super heros (ex. "Super" Hero sandwiches, Captain America Chips, Ironman Ice Cream, etc..) And be sure to check out the above posting super hero parties for more ideas-I love the party from Shim & Sons where she created a super hero character inspired by her son. She tied the emblem and color scheme into the entire party & it was "super" cute! Hope this gives you a few ideas to get started!
