Thinking outside of the box
My BFF's son is turning seven & it is a Star Wars theme birthday this year. I love tying in my gift into the party theme but didn't want to get the typical Star Wars toys. Collin is a little foodie in the making & I immediately thought of Williams Sonoma. I picked up Star Wars cookie cutters, sandwich cutters & pancake molds. I also ran next door to PBKids and found the cutest Darth Vader cloth bin to put everything in for our special birthday boy.
I can't wait to see what the birthday chef creates with his new kitchen toys!

Clothespin Couture
Catching up on my blog reading this afternoon, I found these fun, custom clothespins on Creature Comforts. They have created an easy, step by step tutorial on how to make your own designer clothespins.

All you need is some standard wooden clothespins - generally found in the laundry supply section at stores such as Target (about $3 for 100),fabric scraps in solid colors or prints - light-weight cottons will work best, double-sided tape and scissors.
1.Pull out a strip of double-sided tape that is as long or slightly longer than your clothespin. Attach it to the surface of the clothespin making sure to keep it free from bubbles or creases. The tape should be lined up evenly along one long edge so that the excess hangs off the other sides (seen in the photo above). Trim off excess using your scissors - this works best when the tape-free side is facing towards you while you cut.
2.Place your prepared clothespin tape-side down onto the back side of your fabric (make sure the right side of the fabric is facing down for this step so that it will be displayed correctly when you are done). Turn over and use your finger to press and smooth the fabric onto the tape. Cut excess fabric off all sides - this works best when the fabric-covered side is away from you while you cut.

Party House
Remember the Haunted Glitter Mansion I made for Halloween? I had a few leftover houses and decided to decorate them for gift boxes.

this house is going to Nina for her 7th birthday party this weekend

lovin the bright, fun colors & pom poms

this would also be such a great party craft

Have a few more in my craft closet & more birthdays coming up...don't be surprised if I decorate a couple more!

Happiness is the best medicine
I love the packaging from Happy Pills, an amazing candy store in Barcelona. Perfect for the favorite nurse or doctor in your life! I also love this packaging gift idea for a little one who has a broken arm or leg, new mommy or daddy to be, or anyone who needs a little cheer.
this is where you can fill your prescription in Barcelona or you can set up your own
