Dr. Seuss Week Treats

My boys love Dr. Seuss week at school. Every year, they want me to come to their school and read a Dr.Seuss story to their class. I always like to bring a special treat for the kids & this year I made Cat In the Hat Pops & Green Egg Cookies.

I have made these pops before but these were made with chocolate dipped marshmallows & rice krispie pops.

The green eggs were made with vanilla wafers dipped in white chocolate-super easy & cute!

Note for Teenage Son

I left this for my teenage son today on his door...he used to be my sweet, baby boy & now he is turning into a strong, independent man. No one prepares you for how hard it is to let go, how to trust that they will do the right thing, how not to worry every second of the day or prepares you for how much you love your children. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could stay little forever?

Mardi Gras Smoothies

In honor of Fat Tuesday, I wanted to make the boys a special drink Mardi Gras style. I came up with a blackberry, lime & mango frozen yogurt smoothie in the traditional Mardi Gras colors. I simply took each flavored yogurt, added fruit and blended with ice for each layer. I let each layer set up in freezer for 5-10 minutes before adding the next layer. You could also use flavored sorbet or gelato in place of the yogurt. Yummilicious!

What do you like to drink in celebration of Fat Tuesday?

Let The Games Begin

Does anyone else LOVE The Hunger Games series as much as we do? We were obsessed with these books in our house last summer & have been anxiously waiting for the movie to come out March 23rd! I was secretly hoping someone would design Hunger Games printables & this morning look what I saw on Amy Locurto's blog...

Amy has designed an invitation, party squares, drink flags & signs for your personal party use! You can download all of her printables here.

A Latte Love

Valentine Surprise #8: I adore the "Thanks A Latte" cards from the girls at eighteen25 & thought I would try my own version for Valentine's Day.

I also printed one on brown kraft paper for the hubs (pink is not his color) for a little surprise. I tucked it in his briefcase so he can grab a coffee on the way to the office or the Phoenix Open this weekend.

Are you making anything for your sweetie this weekend?

Espresso Love

Valentine Surprise #7: Chocolate covered espresso beans are one of my hubby's favorite sweets! I packaged them in a clear bottle & made the tag that reads: Words can not ESPRESSO how much I love you!

I hid them where he keeps his coffee beans & grinder. I don't know who is having more fun with this, me (definitely me) or my sweet husband!

Super Bowl Bingo

I love this Super Bowl Bingo idea from Kelly of Studio DIY! Sometimes during the game, the kids get a little restless. This is the perfect activity to keep them interested! Throughout the game & commercials, they can look for the items on the cards. The first person to get 5 in a row wins! You can download your FREE Bingo cards here.
