Its all in the packaging
I saw on HWTM that Jo Gartin’s Weddings has great ideas for guests favors for weddings! I love the packaging for the midnight snack pictured above! It would also be cute for a special birthday treat for your favorite co-worker or for your child's class birthday treat!

Kids Choice
Every year, my kids love to watch the Kids Choice Awards (KCA) on Nickelodeon. For those of you who don't know, children vote for their favorite stars, shows, music, and movies. They love to watch celebrities get "slimed" and the burping contest is their favorite. I saw the above party from Setting the Mood and thought this would be a perfect party idea! Invite the kids to dress as their favorite star or character, hand out KCA ballots for the kids to vote, and throw out some popcorn and candy for them to munch on. Have plenty of soda on hand and host your own burping contest (trust me, the kids will love it). Let the kids vote by secret ballot for the best celebrity look-a-like contest. And of course, slime would be the perfect party favor for this event! The KCA is March 28th & check out nick.com for more info.

I Spy
Remember the "perfect" invitations for Jake's Alex Rider spy party I posted last month? They were $150! This is my inexpensive alternative created with file folders from the Container Store, envelopes from Staples, and my computer! The "recruits" received their assignment & had to decipher the location, time, and date of their mission. Their "training facility" is at Stratum, the world's largest laser tag arena. Our spy kit favors were created from boxes from the Container Store with the Alex Rider logo printed on clear mailing labels. More details to follow...........

Luck o' the Irish
On Marthastewart.com, The Finer Things and Hostess with the Mostess blog, I saw these simple and fun ideas to bring a little of the Irish home to celebrate the holiday. The cookies and cupcakes are great to do with the kids and big boys love Stout floats (a little Guinness, vanilla ice cream, what's not to like!). Happy St. Patty's Day!

Peter Cottontail
Pottery Barn Kids has the cutest Peter Cottontail place settings for Easter. I thought it also would be perfect for a baby shower or a 1st birthday as well. To play up the garden theme, place vintage watering cans filled with fresh flowers. Tie seed packs with twine or ribbon for napkin rings. Host it outdoors in a beautiful garden setting with bunny statues hidden within the garden. Serve field green salads with all of Peter's favorite veggies. Don't forget to serve carrot cake for dessert!
