Total Eclipse

I am little tired this morning....I am on my third diet coke if that tells you anything! We went to the midnight showing of Twilight last night with thousands of screaming, teenage girls. They cheered & screamed throughout the ENTIRE movie-it was hilariously fun!

Has anyone else seen the movie yet? What did you think?

Watermelon Sours Keg

Watermelon is a "mandatory" treat for the 4th with our family. This year, I am adding these Watermelon Sours to our celebration for the adults!

To make a watermelon keg, cut a lid for the top & scoop out all the fruit. Drill a hole near the bottom & then use a knife to widen the hole until it is slightly smaller than the keg shank. Attach the shank & fill with your cocktail. You can find the kits for around $30.00 at kegworks.com

Watermelon Sours Recipe
Puree 4 cups watermelon chunks; strain. Stir in 4 ounces Alize Red Passion or other fruit-flavored liqueur, 8 ounces gin and 2 cups sour mix; chill. Add sparkling rose before serving. Garnish with lime. Makes 10 to 12 drinks

What are you making for the 4th?

Paper Airplane Cards

Paper airplane cards are a fun way to send your Father's Day wishes this year. Your kids will love making them & "trying them out" for Dad! My boys were "practicing" making cards for Dad & Grandpa for hours! Smaller versions would make great gift tags too!

Clothespin Couture

Catching up on my blog reading this afternoon, I found these fun, custom clothespins on Creature Comforts. They have created an easy, step by step tutorial on how to make your own designer clothespins.

All you need is some standard wooden clothespins - generally found in the laundry supply section at stores such as Target (about $3 for 100),fabric scraps in solid colors or prints - light-weight cottons will work best, double-sided tape and scissors.

1.Pull out a strip of double-sided tape that is as long or slightly longer than your clothespin. Attach it to the surface of the clothespin making sure to keep it free from bubbles or creases. The tape should be lined up evenly along one long edge so that the excess hangs off the other sides (seen in the photo above). Trim off excess using your scissors - this works best when the tape-free side is facing towards you while you cut.
2.Place your prepared clothespin tape-side down onto the back side of your fabric (make sure the right side of the fabric is facing down for this step so that it will be displayed correctly when you are done). Turn over and use your finger to press and smooth the fabric onto the tape. Cut excess fabric off all sides - this works best when the fabric-covered side is away from you while you cut.

they also created these adorable pom pom clothespins
