Beam me up
I am still in love with the idea of installing ceiling beams in my family room. What do you think? Are ceiling beams dated or a timeless architectural detail?

Christmas Dinner Table
Last night was the start of our Christmas celebrations. My sweet sister & her new husband are in from NYC & we celebrated with a yummy family dinner cooked by my hubby. Of course, I am in charge of table setting & I snapped a quick pic with my IPhone before everyone sat down. We are casual entertainers-we like everyone to be comfortable & cozy so we piled everyone around the kitchen table. I love how the holidays brings everyone together-life is just how it should be.

Winter white marshmallows
My girlfriend is hosting a bridal shower & she asked me to make some of my chocolate marshmallows for the shower. The theme is winter white so I dipped them in white chocolate & sprinkled with white crystal sanding sugar. I tied the cellophane wrappers with little snowball wired ribbon. I loved how they turned out-I hope our bride-to-be does too!

For your mistle"toes"
For my Bunco group, I wanted to give each girl a little something for the holidays at our Christmas Bunco. I gave all the girls Peppermint & Chocolate dipped Oreos last year & I didn't want to repeat a gift. I started looking on Pinterest & found the cutest gift idea from Supreme Courtney! She gave nail polish with a tag that read "for your mistletoes" & I knew that's what I wanted to recreate! I found these cute mini galvanized buckets & wrapped a simple ribbon around it. I hand wrote a simple tag & wrapped it around the bottle! Easy peasy & in no time at all, 16 gifts for 16 great girls!

Peppermint Bark Oreo Milkshakes
At our house, we are slightly obsessed with peppermint bark during the holidays. One of our favorite treats are homemade peppermint bark ice cream milkshakes. This year, we added a little something extra (drumroll please) OREOS! You can make a semi-homemade version with peppermint ice cream, crumbled peppermint bark & Oreos! Add all the ingredients to the blender with a splash of milk and you have the best milkshake EVER!

Gingerbread House Advent Calendar
I'm excited to share the fun and easy project for a cute Gingerbread house advent calendar! I know that today is the 3rd but you can still do an advent calendar or just do the 12 days of Christmas! This year I wanted to make an advent calendar for our built in bookcases. Of course you could easily make it a garland with ribbon and hang with clothes pins. I wanted something that would easy to make, not super labor intensive and of course cute. I saw these darling gingerbread houses at Michaels by Martha Stewart and I knew they would be perfect! I bought four packs of the houses (40% off), gingerbread stickers, number stickers and ribbon. I decorated the house doors with number stickers, filled with treats and tied the boxes closed with ribbon and gingerbread man sticker. (please make sure the treats are wrapped so they stay fresh & safe to eat) I think they turned out so cute and my boys can not wait to open them each day.
Gingerbread Houses with Grandma
Every year our boys make a gingerbread house with my mom. They look forward to it every year & it is something they share special with their grandma. I love that they have their own holiday traditions & know that the memories are something they will treasure always.

Teenage Chic
I am working on a teenage girls room & my client is the teenage girl! She is a girl who knows what she wants & has a wonderful sense of style. We installed her custom headboard yesterday & I can't wait to see it all together!
