Schweddy Balls Ice Cream

I can not stop smiling after seeing Ben & Jerry's latest creation, Schweddy Balls.

In case you don't know, it is based on one of my favorite SNL skits, The Delicious Dish on NPR.

I love a company with a sense of humor!

Easy Dessert Idea

One of my favorite last minute desserts ideas are mini ice cream cones.  I keep a few packages in the freezer for those impromptu get togethers!  They are easy, yummy & oh so adorable!

I set up shot glasses filled with candy or mini marshmallows, set them on plates & put them to the side.  When it is time to serve dessert, I place a cone in each glass & we are good to go.

I buy my minis at Trader Joe's.  You get 8 mini cones, in chocolate or vanilla ice cream for $2.99.  What a deal! Depending on the crowd, I usually plan on 2-3 cones per person.

What is your favorite go to, quick dessert?

United Shakes of America

Summer is definitely here in Phoenix!  Our high today is 114 degrees & it is ridiculously HOT!  To help try to keep cool, my boys & I make home made ice cream a couple times of week.  Last week, we made home made chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with vanilla ice cream & toffee sprinkles.  This week, we made red, white, & blue mini milkshakes in honor of Independence Day.  My oldest, Jake, dubbed our creation "The United Shakes of America".

To make, start with a batch of homemade vanilla ice cream & divide into 3 equal parts. Place the 1/3 of the plain vanilla back into the freezer.  Mix up 1/3 of vanilla with red & the remaining 1/3 with blue gel color in separate containers.  Fill your glasses 1/3 full of blue ice cream & place back in the freezer to set.  Follow with 1/3 white & 1/3 red, allowing each layer to set in between.

We topped ours with whipped cream & few sprinkles! YUM!  Summer is starting to look a little cooler!

Snowman Sundaes

The boys & I are making our ARIZONA version of a snowman this weekend with these adorable Snowmen Sundaes.  My favorite part is you don't have to get out of your pj's to make them!

Ice Cream Cone Bling

The ice cream party is now officially over & I am completely exhausted. But I had to share with you the favorite treat of the party. For some reason, the ice cream cones were a HUGE hit & everyone LOVED them!

I simply took store bought cones, dipped them in candy melts, and threw on a few pearlized sprinkles.

It is such an easy way to dress up your ice cream cone! I promise to post a few pictures from the party this weekend but for now, I am crawling up to bed & hoping to get a few hours of sleep (with sweet dreams of ice cream of course).

Music Pops

One of the giveaways Breyers sent with their ice cream party pack was free music downloads. I wanted to incorporate the gift cards into our theme so I created music pops.

the tag will read: please enjoy a few bars of music...okay, okay, I know it's a little corny but I can't resist!

cupcake lip gloss (not for the party but I couldn't resist posting)

I am, however, having a hard time finding something for the guys. Does anyone have any fun favor ideas for the boys? I do have ice cream scoops for the adult favors but nothing yet for the guys.

Breyer's Ice Cream Party Invites

To celebrate the end of the school year, we are having an ice cream party! I found these adorable ice cream bar invites and re-created my version pictured below. Our boys handed out our ice cream invites to our friends in the neighborhood.

But wait...I didn't tell you the COOLEST part! Breyers is providing all the ice cream for this party!

I signed up to be a party host on house party (a big thanks Brandy for posting the feature on this site) & I won one of the Breyer's Summer to Remember parties!

Summer & ice cream? Does it get any better?

I See Ice Cream in My Future

Martha Stewart posted this cute fortune teller display of sundae toppings which I L-O-V-E for a party idea! To tie into the theme, create fortune tellers for the invitations. It would also be fun to hire a tarot card reader to read guests fortune. Good luck!
