Girls Oscar Night In

My hubby brought me these beautiful yellow roses for our Oscar Girls Night in

when the girls arrived they filled out their ballots

put on their Oscar flower rings

& selected their BINGO cards

During the red carpet, we enjoyed our appetizers (everyone bought their faves) & piled around the tv to watch the show.  I set up a yummy snack table for all the girls, close to the sofa for easy access

popcorn, carmel corn, candy, & of course CHOCOLATE

the True Grit Lemon Bars & Black Swan Brownies were a big hit

We laughed, talked & enjoyed all the beauty, glitz & glamour!  Did you watch the Oscars? Who wore your favorite dress?  My best dressed vote was Anne Hathaway-I thought she was absolutely STUNNING!  Favorite speech?  I adore Natalie Portman & her speech was so sweet & endearing.  I also thought Randy Newman's acceptance was hilariously smart & Collin Firth was adorably charming.  Who were your faves this year?

Oscar party details

Getting a few last things together for Sunday...printed our Oscar ballots from Twig & Thistle (added a little golden Oscar bling for fun)

& Oscar Bingo from How About Orange

& wrapped water bottles in HWTM printables

& put together Bingo prize with one of my Oscar movie faves!

Off to work on the next project, snack bar treats!

Oscar Jewelry

I am making chenille flower (AKA pipe cleaner) rings for all of my Oscar party girls because everyone at the Academy Awards needs FABULOUS jewelry!  (yes, I know I desperately need a manicure but what is more disturbing is how OLD my hands look-guess the future career of a hand model is out of the question).

To learn how to make your own pipe cleaner rings, go here.

Oscar Brew

A few of the girls like a nice cold beer while watching the Oscars &  let's face it, beer bottles aren't the most attractive. Of course, I want to make the bottles a little more festive & keep with the theme...

I removed the original beer labels & printed the HWTM Oscar tags on sticker paper & placed them on the bottles!  Easy, quick, & cute!  Cheers!

Friends & Film

I decided last night to invite a few of the girls over to watch the Oscars.  I know it is only 6 days away but it is a small group of friends & I am going to keep it simple & casual.  Thankfully, Hostess with the Mostess has created these free Oscar printables which is going to make this party super easy to put together.

All the girls are bringing their favorite apps & all I have to do is put together a snack bar full of yummy treats! And the winner is.......

Party Fringe

I adore the simplistic beauty of these streamers created by Jordan of Oh Happy Day!

All the supplies needed to make this garland is Crepe Paper & a pair of Scissors.

Instructions:
Step 1: Cut off about a 2"-3" section of crepe paper.
Step 2: Start on one side and cut fringe evenly spaced. Leave some space in the center.
Step 3. Turn it over and cut fringe on the other side, still not cutting too far into the center.
Step 4: Muss up the fringe on each side, separate the layers and scrunch it with your fingers.
Step 5. Et voila! Unroll and hang your fringey streamers and celebrate!

Sweet Signs

In Bunco, you have numbered tables which direct you where to go at the end of each round.  Instead of having just basic numbered tables, I named each table after love nicknames.

I also wrapped up a few prizes

so many fun things left to do!
