I set up this fun margarita bar for my hubby's 40th birthday bash this weekend! I commissioned this painting from Chandler artist Kathleen Escobedo. We based the design on the skull art on Dia De Los Muertos. The skull in the painting represents my husband, with the ASU pitchfork, the eyes are the logo of his favorite band, the spade for the nose represents his love of cards with a heart, diamond & club around it as well. Below in the cards is me, the queen on hearts, Jake & his computer, Evan in his jersey with a basketball and the remaining cards have a 40 for his 40th birthday. He loves cigars so of course we had to add that & with in the cigar smoke is his favorite saying "here's to life" which is from his favorite song! He loved the painting and all the thought that went into it. It was a wonderful way to personalize his special day!

One of my favorite party accents are candles. For my hubby's 40th fiesta, I took inexpensive candle votives & wrapped them in black lace. They looked fabulous with the light coming through the lace pattern! They would also be fantastic for bridal shower, wedding, anniversary &/ or any romantic occasion!

I am working on a master bath remodel & I found these gorgeous 12x20 travertine tiles from Ann Sacks. I love how they paired them with the larger slab pieces for the shower walls-it's a cleaner look with less grout lines. What do you think-Do you like this look?

Remember the bridal party logo I designed for my little sister Amanda's wedding? Got the bridal party hoodies done & they are all packed & ready to ship! (one thing less to take on the plane) I think they turned out so cute & will be perfect for getting ready on the big day! Do you think the girls will like them?
I saw this kitchen work station & love the idea of being able to access the island sink from both sides! Highly functional & practical for kitchen prep. What do you think- is this something you would put in your kitchen?

I am not a huge fan of outlets. I understand they are a necessity but the designer in me despises what they do to beautiful backsplash, wall treatment, etc. In recent projects, I've been all about the hidden outlets. It's just a cleaner way to design. What about you? Are you a hidden outlet fan too?

I'm ready for fall. Unfortunately the weather in Arizona is not cooperating. To beat the heat, I thought I would make a yummy frozen dessert cocktail for my girlfriends & thought of one of my favorite fall treats, Caramel apples. How can I possibly make caramel apples better? By adding a chocolate and caramel milkshake made with Adult Chocolate Milk of course! I simply blended ACM with vanilla & caramel ice cream from Haagen Dazs. O.M.G. It is heavenly. And the best part, you can eat the cup when you're done! Tip Junkie & Today's Creative Blog)

I ordered this pug pillow for my son's room & it looks just like our dog Coco. It adds the perfect personal touch to his bedding! I always think its important to add things you love to a room & my son adores Coco. Maybe now he will make his bed more often!

I have started working on my hubby's 40th fiesta & am putting together a margarita bar at his request. I found these glass votives that I am using for the margarita glasses- I love the shape of them, they're easy to hold & they're not top heavy so they won't spill easily. The theme is a play on dia de los muertas (kind of an adios to youth-more details to follow) so I added these to painted skulls to straws for a little fun. What do you think?
