Dia de Los muertos
Had a great time last night at our friends party! Here's my simple day of the dead costume-made my floral crown & wore a black lace top with a peasant skirt.

Just finished making the crown for my costume Friday night-is it too much to wear to the grocery store later? I think I could I pull it off...

Apple Cider Sangria
Making some yummy apple cider sangria this morning for my Halloween bunco tonight. Should I add caramel vodka or cinnamon whiskey? I think I'll leave it on the side and everyone can add their own flavor!

Kate Spade inspired pumpkins
Evere year I like to create a little pumpkin projects. Last year I created fox pumpkins & this year I did something more graphic. I adore Kate Spade & two of her signature looks are the black & white stripe & polka dots. Who doesn't love a stripe & a polka dot? They're classic, timeless & a perfect touch of whimsy.

Boo-yah!
After we got home from "booing" I asked my 15 year old if he was getting to "old" for this. He said, "Mom, I love doing all this fun stuff with you". He made my heart melt-guess I might be doing something right after all.

Jack O' Rita
I am having WAY too much FUN this week creating & styling Halloween cocktails for the Adult Beverage Company! First up, the Jack O' Rita!
3 oz Adult Limeade
3/4 oz Cointreau
2-3 oz of freshly squeezed clementine or orange juice
Draw your favorite pumpkin face on a round glass with black sharpie. Garnish rim with candy sprinkles. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice & add all the liquid ingredients. Shake gently & pour into glass. Cheers!

What Does The Fox Say Pumpkins
I know a sweet little girl who is currently obsessed with foxes & the "what does the fox say" song. She also loves all things cute & not scary for Halloween. So I thought I would surprise her with a pumpkin fox! Well, two foxes because I didn't know if she wanted a boy or girl. So...I created Farra & Felix Fox-the cutest fox pumpkins ever!
For Farra, I added polka dot bows to her ears & a little sparkle blush with glitter & pink paint. Cause every girl loves a little sparkle!
(Linked to The DIY Party, The Great Halloween Link-up, The Sunday Showcase, Show & Tell Saturday & Link Party Palooza)
They were so simple to make. Start with a couple pie pumpkins (I just liked the shape of these best, you can choose whatever type of pumpkin you like). Wash the pumpkins & dry thoroughly. I painted a base coat & a few more for good coverage. (Allow plenty of dry time in between coats).
Once the base coats dry, attach your fox felt ears. I used orange & white felt. I cut 2 sizes of ears with the orange being slightly bigger than the white. I glued the white ear onto the orange & attached the ears to the pumpkin with a small pin. I then painted the face on in a white heart shape.
I glued a small black Pom Pom on for the nose & drew the eyes & mouth on with a black sharpie. And viola, Felix the Fox was born!
I loved the way they turned out! Which is your favorite: Farra or Felix? And my kids want to know: what does the fox say?

Haunted Gingerbread Houses
We had a group of friends over last night for a fall potluck dinner. I always like to plan a fun seasonal activity for the kids to do. I got four kits, one for each family. The kids from each family worked together on their haunted houses. I think they did an amazing job!
(I apologize for the poor quality but I snapped them with my phone rather quickly). I also gave out prizes for the best haunted house-which is your favorite?
